I really started to think about this issue because of the horrors that happened at Virginia Tech. Everytime you read about a school shooting, the topics of video game violence comes up. You get people like Jack Thompson blantently blaming video games for the massacre. I have, and will always, take the stance that that is not the case. I’m no psychologist, but listening to CAGcast #72, it really got me to think about the issue.
This article is about food. The food that enables us to game, or write about games, or maybe masturbate. More importantly, it’s a tirade about a certain article of food, boxed for comfort and easibility of movement. But this box is also full of lies.
We all hate ‘em, even though most of us are them. I’m talking about fanboys. I was reading Gamepro’s six-step guide to see if you are a blabbering idiotic brand obsessed video game fanboy. Am I a fanboy? Maybe a little, but the again we all are. That’s what makes this hobby of ours fun and interesting. I enjoy the rollercoaster ride of hype, slowly inching its way closer to the release date and finally you go over the first incline and after the ride’s over and the hype died down, was it worth the hype or are you now pissed and go on a tirade on the web? Maybe you need to read about, “How To Tell If You’re A Fanboy.â€
Ok, yeah those images have only the tiniest smidgen to do with this article, but as sure as my cat clawed the shit out of my finger last night, any chance I have to include Katamari in my daily life I will take it. In fact I have a sad desire to cosplay as the prince and force Baldy to be his father hahah! ;_; Anyways, read this on Wired and figured you’d all get a kick out of this fan-made crazyness. Seems, a certain Jon Heilman was so enraptured by the (admittedly bad-ass) time map in Time Bandits that he exahaustedly made his own. Like for real yo. The only reason I’m even writing about this deal @ Play-Asia is because: 1. Crackdown is a fun open sandbox style of game with good graphics and just plain fun to blow things up. 2. $29.99 for an Xbox 360 game is a steal 3. The region free Asian version has the better cover with funny anime Tetsuo/Lupin the 3rd love child [...] |
