Having conquered rolling, Keita Takahashi brings ‘stretching’ to PS3. Cat-faced tube snake ahoy!

It seems only yesterday that our beloved creator of all things Katamari was pissing and moaning relating his concerns about the controller for the Revolution Wii, his dislike of the state of videogames, his dislike of making sequels and his one true dream: to build and design children’s playgrounds. He made some great statements, I even agree with them.

Takahashi has stated in numerous interviews that he had no desire for Katamari to be touted as innovative or creative – he simply set out to bring the concept of simple, silly fun back into video gaming.

Nothing wrong with that! And it’s not even a statement!

He even designed some bitching t-shirts. I own two of them, one has an ostrich and the other ROCKS THE PINK, thank you very much, so I consider myself a batshit insane healthy fan of his work.

But now he’s making a new videogame for the PS3 called Nobi Nobi Boy, and based on the three screens released by Famitsu, it’s just about as weird as it can get.
