Okay, I’m a sucker for anything that’s video game crap so when I found out that ThinkGeek’s April Fools gag became a reality, I rushed to my computer and place my order ASAP. Well my order came in late last week and I must say this is a quality tie. First off, it’s a clip on tie but don’t hold that against it.
Hey folks, there is a very good reason why this tie must be a clip on. A real tie would end up creating a non 8-bit curved triangle knot at the top of the design. The 8-bit effect would be instantly lost. Nanny Nanny boo boo.
I love the “Silky Microfiber Construction†aka Polyester. My only problem is that it’s only 20 inches long and my big obtuse belly makes it look very short on me. While I’m trying to figure out a time and a place to wear this pixilated tie, I was able to wear it on the exact day when my boss started critiquing me about my clothing and general appearance at work. So at the end of the day, I sported my awesome 8 bit tie and wished my boss a good evening. The look on his face was that of utter confusion and annoyance. I’m sure he was wondering if I just kept that tie hidden from him for such an occasion.
The tie is made well and I think $19.99 isn’t asking too much for this unique clip on tie. I would rave more about this tie but I’m still a little bummed about the general length of this tie. Sit back and think for a moment…
How many gamers do you know that are thin and anorexic like this guy above?
I can think about maybe one skinny gamer while the rest of us are sporting a little spare tire in the mid section. Oh well, I guess this is another reason for myself to put down the controller and loose some of this weight.
The “8-bit tie†is awesome for a gift and just for you. If you live the Gamer’s lifestyle and want to sport your pride, then this purchase should be the next on your gaming to do list. Better hurry since Halloween is right around the corner if you want to go as the “8-bit†accountant. I’ll probably save this for Thanksgiving or Christmas, anything to get out of wearing a real tie. Click on the pics below to get a better idea how this tie was made. With some sewing skills, I’m sure you can just make one for yourself.
The “8-bit” tie gets two thumbs up from me.

That’s so nerdy it’s awesome. XD Too bad it’s a clip-on.
