If all of the rumor mills on the internet are telling no lies, then it looks like next month; you will see an Xbox 360 that is actually price cheaper than Nintendo’s Wii. I’m actually looking forward to the price cut because I’m quickly running out of hard drive space and I much rather pick up a new system, with an HDMI port and the slim chance of the dreaded red ring issues has been fixed, than buying an overpriced hard drive. That Elite console is looking more and more tempting with a $399 price tag…
Arcade (no hard drive) to $199
Pro (60GB) to $299
Elite (120GB) to $399

I’d still be apprehensive on picking a “new” system up.
As far as I know, the only reason M$ dropped the price was to blowout the old 20G systems and to make way for the 60G. Meaning the price would go back up afterwards, keeping the old pricing structure.
If they in fact lower the cost of the Arcade system, they are probably doing so for similar reasons. Jango, if you are considering picking up an Arcade to avoid red ring issues, be aware that the arcades that are in many stores are still the old ones. I’ve had the same Arcades in my store for months.
I think it’s false. If it’s true, wait and see about a new arcade holiday bundle.
Thanks for the heads up
