Doom Movie Review

doom-movie.jpg

I never meant to ever watch this flick nor did I ever think I would actually own this movie but stranger things have happened in my life. On an impromptu trip to Fry’s my wife pointed out the 6 shopping carts full of HDDVDs on clearance and being the cheap consumer who is a whore for cheap movies, we picked up a huge stack of HDDVDs. One of them was Doom, a videogame movie that I had little to no interest in but hey it was only $6.00 so what did I have to lose right?

Halo Fabel 2 Armor Is Still a Reality.

Yeah so this seems to be the Halo/Fable armor that our illustrious friend Xeno was so upset about seems to still be a reality.  As much as I want to make fun of Xenojive, I have to side with him on this one.

What the hell is this ugly thing?

Ugh.

Virtual Console: October Wrap Up.

I’ve been sloughing off on my Virtual Console write ups but alas I shall correct my failures. Here are the Virtual Console releases for the month of October. There a handful of really rare games and a Square RPG that I’m still trying to grasp my head around to why it wasn’t rehashed onto the DS like Chrono Trigger. Oh well at least I can thank God that Nintendo didn’t do a stupid “scary” retro game releases for Halloween.

Flounder’s Second Xbox 360 Bites The Dust

YEAHHH!!  WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

It was bound to happen sooner or later, but man, how I wished that this one would hold out.  Although, I do have to say that it held out longer than my first 360, lasting almost a year and a half.  The really shitty part about all of this is that when I went online [...]

PSP-3000 Has Interlacing Issues

psp 3000

So I was reading a post about the PSP-3000 at Neo-Geo.com by member WakuWakuWeirdo. He was complaining that the new PSP-3000 has a weird video issue. In order to combat ghosting, Sony decided to implement new hardware that causes these scan lines thoughout the games. Apparently, Sony is aware of this and has no plans to fix this issue. From Kotaku:

On some occasions, scan lines may appear on scenes where brightness changes drastically, due to the hardware features of the new LCD device on PSP-3000. Installed with this new LCD device, PSP-3000 offers more natural and vibrant colors on its screen, but the scan lines have come out to be more visible as a result of improving response time to alleviate the afterimages on PSP-3000. Since this is due to hardware specification, there are no plans for a system software update concerning this issue.

Makes me really not to want to “upgrade” my PSP…

GodzillaThon!

James Rolfe, a.k.a. ‘The Angry Video Game Nerd’, has finished up his rundown of the entire Godzilla franchise.  It’s 29 parts, but I have it set up in a playlist so you can watch what you want.  So, for your viewing pleasure, I present to you [...]

Amazon Puts MGS4 LE Bundle On Sale; AF Weeps, Doesn’t Know What To Do

As figured out by every man, woman and child months ago, the MGS4 PS3 limited edition bundle wasn’t quite as limited as Konami said.  So, what is Amazon doing?  Putting the fucker on sale for $449.

These are the times that try mens’ souls.  Should I?  Shouldn’t I?  The want is killing [...]

Holy Crap! A Blast From the Past: Video Power!!!

Man does this bring back memories back when I use to live in Ohio. Ahh simpler times. Too bad the kid in this video didn’t get any games for his grand prize. [...]

Deadspace: Well, what about it?

<insert image here>

Unfortunately, I’m currently deep in Rochester, Minnesota far and away from the excitement and bother of having a cable modem. In fact: I’m currently online at the blistering speed of 46K per second, and that’s not quite fast enough for me to make this anything else than a quick text only mini-review. Seriously.

Whats that you say? You could easily post pictures on a 56K modem? Maybe. But this is not only an office, but my 16 month old nephew’s room. Ah I see you nodding your head now, truely this is a den of horror and intrigue and my visit must be brief.

There is noise, clamor and drool involved. Lots of drool. And moo-cows. Lot’s of them. I’m on a farm in fact. Talking about DEADSPACE.
