The Strange Case of the Disappearing Post!
Ok guys, after a bit of research I discovered at least part of the problem. Seems that using Safari or IE to post here might be at the root of posts disappearing, and since we have contributors that use multiple OS and web browsers, chances are anyone that helps edit a post, could contribute to the issue. So far it seems Firefox is immune to this (at least that’s what I read) so try using FF to post if you contribute. If you guys could let me know what browser you are using to contribute, that’d be a big help.

You do realize that makes no sense right? BTW: I use IE @ work & Camino & Firefox at home. And yes my work post gets deleted. This needs to be fix like right now.

No it makes sense, certain browsers just don’t seem to work with Wordpress. If you use IE at work, well….. posts seem to disappear….

Oh and personally, I’d say IE is the main culprit here. Don’t use it. Period. It’s a bad browser anyways.
Also, the problems Xeno had might be due to him copying/pasting text from an HTML site, which is bad news in many cases. Always dump text into a vanilla text editor to erase any lingering attatchments or code (Notepad is good).
So you’re telling me the internet brower that maybe 90% of the inter uses is not compatible with Wordpress? That’s fucking retarded. So why are we having issues now?

The most popular browser is Firefox these days in most cases; generally people only use IE because they have no idea there’s something better and it comes installed.
And it’s not incompatible, it’s a bug. IE is notorious for not working with various online tools, even the ones that are MS developed.
i used camino and my post and comments disappeared. why in the almost 2 years this sites been up are we now having “compatibility” issues?

Yeah, I use Firefox exclusively and my stuff disappeared. I think Wordpress is just being gay.
So Camino by the same guys who did Firefox & a Firefox user are gettig their post deleted. Hmm.
Then that means there only one logical conclusion.

I only use Firefox and why hasn’t anyone mentioned that these problems only started after the site redesign? Perhaps that’s the issue
The redesign was just a switch flipped. We had no issues until 09/30 and then the site went to hell. I’m very temped to start from scratch.
i just think its bullshit that microsoft’s and apple’s proprietary web browsers is causing the issues, maybe its word press itself.

So I take that you’ve done nothing and haven’t a clue why we were having this problem… OK, I should have expected as much.
No, that’s part of the issue. Browsers.
Those posts are gone daddy-o. It could be because the server was migrating. I’m not sure. It’s not like i have a trial to follow. As far as the FTP and online stuff is concerened, those posts never existed.
Feel free to research it if you want, I spent hours doing so.
