A much planned and yet still an on the whim evening, the local Neo-Geo gamers were able to gather together with the largest turned out to date which can only be described as a big success.

The evening started with everyone meeting at the Pinball Hall of Fame for some pinball action. It gave everyone plenty of time to meet up and get acquainted with everyone since I invited gamers from various websites and gaming establishments and not everyone knew each other so the neutral starting location was sort of a gimme. If no one was going to vouch for that one lonely person, well the sad reality is that they will have to say at the PBHoF. After about an hour and a half of flipping the pinball around and breaking personal best on some of the older EM pinball tables, it was decided to invite everyone over to the PCA headquarters my house for some arcade gaming goodness.

Base on my count, a total of sixteen people showed up of this arcade gaming extraordinaire with a person here or there trickling in every now and then. There was plenty of gaming to be had and since I had 6 cabs up and ready on free-play, plus my Big Ben pinball table and of course the never ending battle for good with Earth Defense Force on the Xbox 360 in the living room, the time flew by very quickly

Surprisingly the little Candy Cab got a lot of play but unfortunately my order for four Japanese arcade stools haven’t arrived yet so that left only two stools between the two 2-player machines. My sad attempt to remedy this problem is to pull out a step stool for anyone with a small ass so they could enjoy some Japanese Candy cabinet awesomeness. What surprised me the most was the amount of play the Big Ben pinball went through. There seemed to always be someone on that table.

Sean was kind enough to step buy and buy the pizzas for the party and as always, I’m very grateful for his generosity. Of course, I can’t have a get together without me taking silly snap shot of people playing on the cabs. The photos came out well, I guess. I’m just happy everyone enjoyed themselves and that for a couple of hours, my home resonated an aural flashback of the arcades of yore. I take joy in the sheer energetic boom that was reverberating from my home. I dig it, I really do.

So this big shindig went well and hopefully, with God willing, I can host another big get-together. For now I’m going to relax and recoup from the busy day that was Saturday. Man, I’m still freakin’ beat.
