So, the holiday season upon us, unprecedented amounts of snowfall (8 inches!) and a certain large PCA celebrity is in town this time! Huzzah!
It was quite the treat to have the irrepressible (and debonair) Baldy in town this weekend; somehow dragging himself away from EPIC! 40 man raids with his WoW clan to drive down here from Reno to hang with me, Jango and Decepticreep. And his family too I guess. Whatevs.
The weekend started with me finally introducing him to Left4Dead, and suprisingly he proved himself quite adept at both pissing off the witch and soaking up bullets in turn. Well, actually he seemed to be doing better than me at that game, which is unusual to be sure. We played through the four main episodes before trying our hands at some Versus mode. Which, as has been mentioned ad nauseum on this site, sucks the root if your team isn’t 1) communicating and 2) playing as a team. But needless to say, it was more than enough fun to get a couple of rounds in with Decepticreep online as well.
Might I mention that I freaking hate most online gamers now? Effing cheaters.
Saturday we all crashed Jango’s house to get some more gaming in, mooch from his fridge and basically mope around the joint. We played Left 4 Dead both online co-op and Versus, got some food and then proceeeded to load up Tasunoke-buro-kawaiidesu vs. Capcom on the modded Wii and simultaneously bitch about the control options offered by Nintendo (yes your directional pad blows!), the abundance of English on every menu but the main one and have a awesome time just trying out the various combinations and super moves offered. Jango’s gone into depth on that game already, so I won’t retread with my tiresome review, but if there’s one game that really shines on the Wii, that game is easily it.
Shame really.
So, in short, the weekend was great and Left 4 Dead is officially our new party game.
