2009 marks the 25th anniversary of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Since everyone has gone nostalgia crazy these days, including and not limited to; G.I. Joe, Transformers, Ghost Busters, and He-man… why not the dudes in green? Now this isn’t the 25th anniversary of the toys or the cartoon, since those came out in ’88, but of the drunken ideas that came from the minds of Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird.
Now Ninja Turtles has always had a warm place in my heart, even more so than G.I. Joe or Transformers. I grew up watching the cartoon, watching the movies, playing the games, eating the cereal, and playing with those little He-Man knock-offs toys. I used to have an ass load of those toys. I even got one of my questions published in a TMNT comic! But it wasn’t until later in life did I start really emerging myself in the Ninja Turtle universe.
