Waaay back in ’07, Tenno wrote a little article about this slick looking sidescroller game by Vanillaware who are probably most known by their more recent game Odin Sphere for the PS2. All I can say is that I’m glad as hell that I never sold my Wii because this is the kind of game that I want to play. Based on the video (after the jump) this game has that Ninja platforming look to it ala: (NES) Ninja Gaiden or more resembling Legend of Kage 2 perhaps?
Being the graphic whore that I can be, Oboro Muramasa looks amazing and brings much needed faith I so desperately want towards modern console in relations to 2D graphics. I’m getting tired of cell shaded “2D” and most high resolution 2D games lack the proper amount of filler animation to make them look fluid. HD has proven to be a bitch to pull off right in this high resolution era, and in a weird way, I’m glad this game is on the old Wii because the 480p resolution will keep this game looking purdy. Also, the Wii can take whatever “hardcore” game it can get. Now I only hope Muramasa will sell well.
