Pineconeattack! Presents: Pinekast! #13: Treasure

pinekast13Whew.

Ever have one of those times where every step you take forward involves you sliding half a step back? You know, shifty, slurry sand type steps. Well, this week we had yet another case of our guests sounding great, us sounding great, new mixing board, all that jazz and still… right after suddenly losing internet connection (thanks Cox) halfway through the show, me and Jango come out sounding like robots. We plugged and unplugged and twisted dials whither and hither and it seemed to work… for a time. Then, ROBOTS!

But we chugged on, sure in our knowledge that bad audio can still be entertaining audio and the show must go on. The show in this case being about Treasure, which signifies we were talking about Treasure the company and not the stuff you find in the ground. Well I suppose Treasure could be in the ground, or on the ground, but then we’d have to capitalize the word and then and uh…… WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Sorry. Lost it for a sec there. Anywhoo, the show this week was me, Jango, Baldy and a special guest from the wilds of the Midwest; Jedah Doma, who you’ve heard us mention a time or two. Jedah is known for creating the amazing better produced than ours podcast Substance TV (which you can go to by clicking that thar link on the right column!) and for co-creating the new podcast and fashion show: Pixel Pill. ’cause it’s easy to swallow gaming shit yah dig? Booyah! That aside, Treasure is a company I am more than well aware of now, but Jango and his brother have been much bigger fans of for years now and, along with Jedah, have a much better working knowledge and history with the company. Myself? I only knew Nintendo, Sega and ironically Virgin, and that was because they were the prominent names on everything and Virgin always had this hilarious bored intro that delighted me as a child. You know the one, the bored voice is like “Viiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiirginnnnnnnnnn”, then cue me cackling away. At the time I had no idea what the word meant, but it always sounded ominous to me, like the cartoon on Sesame Street where the lady with fruit on her clothes dances around.

I had weird fears as a child.

Enjoy.
