Game of the Month: Metal Gear Solid
Welcome and salutations to the month of June for Game of the Month. Due to all the hype and brouhaha over Kojima’s latest Metal Gear Solid: Rising for the Xbox 360, PS3 and whatever system they can shoe horn this new non-exclusive game into, some of the gents here at PCA are getting excited about Raiden’s newest adventure. To keep the momentum going, it was decided that the original Metal Gear Solid for the PlayStation would make for an interesting game to discuss, especially since self proclaimed of all stealth video games Tenno has never actually played a single Metal Gear game, ever. So why not start at the beginning, well the beginning that matters as far as the good Metal Gear storyline in concerned.
Metal Gear Solid should be a simple game to come by these days. If you are looking for bare disc copies they should run you about $10 but I would strongly suggest purchasing the minty fresh Metal Gear Solid: The Essential Collection for only $30 which includes the original Metal Gear Solid (PSX), Metal Gear Solid 2 Substance (PS2) and Metal Gear Solid 3 Subsistence (PS2). There has been some debate if Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes should be included as part of June’s Game of the Month and quite frankly, I don’t see a reason not to include it, just be aware that the low end price for Twin Snakes is around $30. Hopefully the PlayStation Network download will be made available this month.
So come and join us on the stealthy adventure of Snake as he infiltrates into Shadow Moses to stop a nuclear war by destroying Metal Gear Rex and be all around bad ass in the process while chasing tail. Just remember that you will need a rumble controller, the original box to progress and a pack of smokes. So if you bought a bare disc copy remember what Mei Ling would say, “wise man says, google is your friend.”
Remember our Contest: Come up with a better name for Game of the Month, because Game of the Month sounds so dull. Send your suggestions to Pineconeattack@gmail.com and title you post “Game of the Month” and the winner will get something cool, I promise.

Both are valid, especially since it’ll let us compare both. That and we can talk about the wacky cut-scenes.
I’m going to use this as a chance to play through the Gamecube revision.
lol i remember the psx commercial
Alright, but I get to pick the next one.
It’s always up for a vote. Plead your case and convince us!
