A series that has spanned 22 years, produced many sequels and is loved the world over….but enough of that shit. We are only talking about one title in the Metal Gear saga and arguably the most important one of all: Metal Gear Solid. Ahh…all the great memories that flood back from playing this game. Except for those fucking wolf dogs. Stupid mutts.

Gather ‘round kids and let me tell you a tell about a half man and half snake who was able to take on an ocelot, mantis, wolf, raven and even another snake. It’s a harrowing tale with action, adventure and even love blooming on a battlefield. What’s more interesting than that is hearing the opinionated dribble of six good friends about the sheer awesomeness of Metal Gear Solid? Nada of course, but that does not mean we all loved it. Listen on to how one person couldn’t even finish the game, another gave up towards the end and the third fellow played it through twice. Interesting.
So slip into a comfortable sneaking suit, turn up your mp3 player and enjoy a slow crawl back into the past when men were men, Mei Ling was a racist sounding bitch and Solid Snake’s face look like it was hit hard by the pixilated proverbial ugly stick.

Listening to the show with “fresh” ears, I’m very pleased with the way it turned out. I actually like the fact not everyone was gushing over the game and it’s interesting to get everyone’s perspective. I’m looking for to the next GOTM.

BTW: Metal Gear Solid 2 is awesome. Anyone who disagrees hates babies.
MGS2 is good; Big Shell is just a weak scenario and the bosses are no good. And yes, I hate most babies.
And I really should be smacked for referring to Metal Gear 1 for the MSX as Metal Gear Solid 1. Super-fail for me. And for doing the communications tower the hard way for years. Story of my life.
Oh, and Bubbles is still ALIVE! Color me shocked.
Hey maybe in a year or so we can have Metal Gear Solid 2 as a GOTM. For now, I’m done with the topic of Metal Gear.

If you guys can get that Karate Champ cab at Evo, you will be my heros. I have not played that in so long. I know that there should be a MotW tourney going on at Evo this year. May be able to convince Dark Geese to run it on the cab. Also avoid the XBL version of MotW, you get horrible input lag playing anyone with a ping over 100. SNK may be using the same online system for the KOF98UM they just released this week too.
