Because they are so awesome when they [...] This week we tackle Donkey Kong, starring the iconic and irrepressible Donkey Kong himself and the series of games he’s starred in, made cameos in and been a part of. So I was browsing through Goozex today, a video game trading website, when I found a pleasant surprise. Goozex now allows people to trade “retro” games. I saw categories for the 2600, NES, Super NES, Gameboy, Genesis, N64, and even Sega CD!!! How cool is that? Sega CD! But guess what I [...] Dracula X: Rondo of Blood is one of those elusive games that every collector wanted in their hands. Not only was Rondo of Blood the first ever Castlevania game to have been press onto the compact disc format, but also it is probably the finest example of classic formula Castlevania and one of the best [...] So a few weeks back, Decepticreep and I were coming down from our sugar high and needed to stimulate our already stimulated ‘selves with some old fashioned visceral coin-op entertainment, so the obvious choice was the Pinball Hall of Fame. I was curious about the new place and had to get a gander at the new home of the Pinball Hall of Fame. The banner pinned over the building was an obvious place holder and the windows were being dry walled up, the building’s exterior was hiding the electric sex lurking inside.
Ok, so I wrote up my quick impressions yesterday after playing an hour of the game and beating the first two circuits, I confidently beat the game today, so know I’ll give you my assessment on the new Punch-Out!! for the Wii. I’ll try not to get into too much detail about the fighters themselves so that I don’t spoil it for anyone who hasn’t played the game yet. Continue reading Review: Punch-Out!! for the Wii, Stick ‘n Move The good folks over at GOG.com are offering up Fallout, Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics (which all kick a ton of ass) in a bundle pack for the super-cheap price of $14.38 until this coming Monday, April 27th. Along with the games, which are all DRM-free, they are including full PDF manuals, soundtracks and other assorted [...]
I’ve come across some weird and interesting coin-op games throughout my short years in this hobby but I love it when you find that proverbial diamond in the rough of quirky awesomeness. Taito’s Ice Cold Beer is probably one of the more appealing non-pinball games I’ve come across at the Pinball Hall of Fame. I walked pass this machine after Sean (Game Repair) pointed it out and informed me about how Tim (Pinball Hall of Fame) purchased this unique bar game recently. I was a bit disinterested in it since it wasn’t pinball (the whole reason why we were at the Pinball Hall of Fame) or an arcade machine, so pass by this machine without giving it a second thought. Fast forward about a half hour when I began to watch this guy playing this game and I was instantly intrigued. The game looks simple and I knew I can beat that guy’s record of only two targets. So I don’t watch as much television anymore. I must be getting old. Hell, look at me, I just called TV “television.†Damn it, that’s not very l337… You know what makes me feel even older? How about a G4 spoof on two things I loved as a kid. Yeah, I’m talking about Donkey Kong and Terminator, baby. Continue reading King of Kong 2 & Neo-Geo: Serious Monkey Business |

PCA vs. CGE!
Last weekend we had a chance to stop by the newly invigorated Classic Gaming Expo – a glorification of everything retro, retroesque or just plain classic in video gaming. Though this means we saw way more Pacman shirts then we normally do…
