Pineconeattack, or PCA is a semi-collaborative effort of sheer idiocy, perpetrated on teh interbutts for our own sick amusement, with articles about gaming, pop culture/fad and anything we find funny.
Seriously, escape while you can.
Game of the Month: August
|

Last weekend we had a chance to stop by the newly invigorated Classic Gaming Expo – a glorification of everything retro, retroesque or just plain classic in video gaming. Though this means we saw way more Pacman shirts then we normally do…

This week we tackle Donkey Kong, starring the iconic and irrepressible Donkey Kong himself and the series of games he’s starred in, made cameos in and been a part of.
So if you have some love for the barrel tossing ape and his unsated lust for a carpenter’s girlfriend, join us as the PCA crew hunkers down [...]
Gather round kiddies as we circle around the digital campfire as we reminisce the ‘good old days’ of gaming when cassette tapes and 5 1/4 floppy discs were viable media for gaming and 6kb was considered a SHIT TON of memory. Do any of you remember playing games off of your VCR ? Or playing Legend of Zelda off of a floppy discs or even swiping cards into a device to play old Nintendo games? Well we all did and boy does this make me want to embrace my hard drive and welcome digital media with wide-open arms.
Gaming in this generation is amazing but deep down I still miss the day when 30 minutes to load up a 40kb file and blowing into dusty NES carts just to play 10 minutes of some random game I found at the local swap meet or shooting cowboys on a big screen at the Circus Circus arcade. Hell, does anyone even remember Captain Power? Or what about the Laseractive?
Sigh, I’m old.
Well, join Decepticreep, GR Sean, Baldy, Jedah Doma and myself as we discuss magnetic storage devices and 8 bit porn. Yeah, we rock.

I’m sure I sounded retarded or just freaking old but this boom box just 100% pure awesomesauce! It’s obviously that this walker is homemade but that doesn’t take away from the sheer awesomness that is a Imperial Walker boombox. Mark this on my “DO WANT!” list. So this AT-AT boombox is all hack-out [...]

I tend to not cover internet auction but this LP is defiantly going to be the exception. The modern tech geek in me wants to ignore this clumsy obsolete flat disc of spiral vinyl yet the romantic collector wants to embrace the warm analog reverberations that flow from the petite point of the player’s needle and warm my black heart. The mere fact that someone at Sega decided to take two things that I love (gaming soundtracks & obsolete media formats) and mesh them into a product that will only exponentially increase in value is almost enough for me to orgasm over.
Sadly, the only way to obtain one of these clear blue discs of beauty is to head over to eBay and bid on this #1 of 3500 record with all proceeds going to the Cancer Council of Australia. So look forward to spending big bucks on this rarity but rest assure that at least worldwide shipping will be free. Too bad I will never get a chance to own this awesomeness. At least I have Sonic’s Ultimate Genesis Collection to look forward to next week for the Xbox 360 & PlayStation 3…
Woot!

I have a personal dilemma and I need help from you guys in the internets. We all know that Street Fighter IV is coming out next month for both the Playstation 3 and the Xbox 360. My question is simple; which one should I get?
There’s many pros and cons for both [...]

This is leading up to a much more relevant article about my current gaming vice and possibly an actual review! But let me start by introducing myself:
My gamertag is Baldy, and I’m a PC gamer.
In the olden days, while all the cool kids had their Ataris and Colecovisions, I was rocking out with the early slice of silicon gold that was the Commodore 64. I fondly recall the simpler games like Bruce Lee, Ghostbusters, and Floyd of the Jungle (plus a shitton of ports from Atari) and will never forget the remarkably well done ones like Impossible Mission, Bard’s Tale, Maniac Mansion, and of course, the precursor to a later love, Zork.

You want a chance to get a copy of Street Fighter IV early???
