Title: Mad Stalker: Full Metal Force
System: PC Engine CD (Turbo Grafx CD w/ adapter)
Format: Arcade Branded Compact Disc
Release: 1994
Mad Stalker for the PC Engine is an interesting title that just never gott any attentiononline. I soon realized why.
Mad Stalker: Full Metal Force is a mech themed beat ‘em up game for the PC Engine that requires the extra umpf from the Arcade HuCard expansion, which not a lot of original users ever got around to purchasing, probably due to a small amount of games that actually utilized the extra ram well. At the time, the only way to play close to ‘arcade perfect ports’ of Neo-Geo games was to have one of these Arcade HuCard expansion install in your Turbo Grafx/PC Engine. The Arcade expansion card is now little scarce these days and to even use the Arcade card you need JPN console or an expensive adapter to work with the US Turbo Grafx 16 since the Arcade expansion card was never released in North America.
My guess is that’s one of the reasons why there’s hardly any info or screen shots found on the Internet for Mad Stalker since the setup can be a little convoluted to the casual retro gamer, especially by today’s standards.

First and foremost, I will try to make this impression as spoiler free as I can. Having said that, I decided to keep up with my namesake and watch Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen on opening night last night. It’s not that I loved the first movie so much that I had to go [...]

As with most pop culture conventions, you will have your fair share of cosplayers and I’m happy to say that BotCon did not disappoint. I personally dig cosplayer if they do it right and I absolutely love when they do it wrong. Surprisingly, I was quite impressed with most of the cosplayers because a lot of time and effort was put into their costume to not look stupid. I tip my hat to thee, bravo. So let’s begin into the seedy world of Transformer related costume play.

I learned one thing this year at BotCon is that Hasbro is making beaucoup bucks on the Transformers toy-line. There was enough little plastic robots to make my head spin. There were people from all ages to gather in the awesomeness that is Transformers and surprisingly, everyone was cool and friendly but I’m not sure having the Pasadena PD as security guards may have had a little to do with that. Crazy Californians. Continue reading BotCon ’09: The Toys

With little persuasion, Decepticreep convinced me to go with him to this year’s Botcon that was in Pasadena, Ca for the 25th Anniversary of Transformers. Good times ensued. Both of us were being cheap so the deal was, Decepticreep paid for the rooms while I had to pay for the fuel to get from Las Vegas to Pasadena. I sort of cheated.
For preparation of the trip, I traded in one of my best vehicles I’ve ever owned for a more fuel-efficient car. Yeah, Jango bought a hybrid; a Toyota Prius to be more precise and as far as efficient, I was able to make the trek on one tank of gas with plenty of fuel to spare while we were in Cali. I only had to fuel up once for the trip back home. Like I said, I cheated.
We arrived on Friday evening and settled in and recorded the Yoshi’s Island Special Pinekast in the hotel room. I was quite proud to actually have the complete cast in this episode. Tenno, Baldy, Ancient Flounder, Jedah Doma, Decepticreep and myself all met on Skype and were able to actually record the show on the road. So look for that real soon. After the show, it was time for bed. We had a big day ahead of us.

We are in a time and place where the gaming industry is at its prime and there are tons of new releases coming each and every week. There are just oodles and oodles of new games that are almost impossible for a consumer and keep track of them all. The only way to know what game is good and what is garbage is good old fashion word of mouth and that’s the one thing I love about our hobby. I haven’t seen an ad, video or screen shot of Super Robot Taisen OG Saga Endless Frontier until I read about it on my favorite forum. It was word of mouth that made me do my quickie research which made me realize that this might be a great game to play.
I’m glad I did.

So, who’s going to Botcon ’09 with me? It will be on May 28th until May 31st in Pasadena, CA. The reason for my intrest in this particular convention is that it’s not often that Botcon makes it this far west. It usually takes place in the mid-west like Ohio or [...]
After like, 3 weeks of false starts, tech issues, and random escapades we’ve gone into detail before, Pinekast! #12 finally came to fruition. Man did that take forever or what?
This week we finally get into talking about mecha in games, or favorite mechas or robots in games and bitch about Macross and Robotech. Because bitching is [...]
So it took 12 episodes to realize that I’ve never posted a preview about the topic for this week’s show, so silly me! (Drum roll please) Well it’s about robots; yep robots. Well games that featured robots and by robots I mean anything that’s metal like mechs, automatons, androids, robots that transforms in garbage cans [...]
