A guy on a BBS in 1996 told me my email would outlive my homepage, and I laughed at him
Back in 1996 I ran a little Geocities page for my fantasy football league out of my apartment in Akron, and a guy named Dale on a local BBS kept telling me to grab a free Hotmail account before they ran out. I figured the web was the future and email was the dinosaur, so I blew him off for about 2 weeks. He was halfway right, that Hotmail address is still alive today while the homepage died when Geocities shut down in 2009. Did anyone else save their old free email and actually keep using it?
