That time a 14.4k modem took 45 minutes to download a 3MB picture of a kitten
I sat there staring at the progress bar on Prodigy, convinced the whole thing froze, only to find out my buddy sent it from his college's T1 line and didn't warn me. Has anyone else ever sat through a download that long only to realize the file was corrupted at 99%?

Oh man, tell me about it @the_robin. Had a term paper back in college that I worked on for like a week straight. Went to save it one last time and the program just froze up, then gave me that "file is corrupted" message. Lost the whole thing. I just sat there staring at the screen for a good five minutes. Still get a little twitchy thinking about it. You never really forget that kind of betrayal.
