Best week of 2012 on a dead forum full of strangers

I spent seven days on a gardening forum that hasn't seen a new post since 2013, and a random user named FernLady actually replied to my tomato blight question within three hours. Her advice saved my whole crop, but the site's been frozen since. Anyone else ever get a gold nugget from a site that's clearly on life support?

Read a thing once about old forums being like time capsules. Sometimes the best advice is sitting in some dead corner of the internet.
