Found a 2002 flash game site called 'Pixel Pile' that still loads but the high score board is full of names from 2004.
I clicked a random game called 'Zombie Zapper' and my score actually posted to the ancient leaderboard, which felt like sending a message into a digital time capsule that hasn't been checked in 20 years.

That's a weirdly cool feeling. Like my terrible zombie zapping score is now forever next to 'xXDarkSniperXx' from the Bush administration. My legacy is being the worst player on a dead leaderboard. Future internet archaeologists are gonna be so confused.

Actually that's a pretty sad legacy if you think about it. Being remembered as the worst at something is just embarrassing, not cool. Those future people won't be confused, they'll just laugh at how bad you were. It's a dead game, so nobody will even care enough to dig it up anyway.
