Found a 2002 site with a working guestbook that still emails you a confirmation
I was poking around a forgotten GeoCities clone and left a test message, expecting nothing, but got an auto-reply from a server that's probably been running in a closet somewhere for over two decades.

That's the kind of tech that outlives its purpose. My old AOL email still forwards to my main account. It's like a ghost from 1999 that just won't quit. I get a weird comfort knowing some ancient server is still humming along. Meanwhile my new router needs a reboot every other Tuesday. Makes you feel old.

Man, that AOL email thing is a perfect example lol. It's wild how the old junk we built to last just... does, while the new stuff falls apart if you look at it wrong. I bet that guestbook server is some dusty old machine running code no one even remembers how to update, and it'll probably outlive us all. Makes you wonder what we're even building for anymore if it's all gonna be useless in two years.
