Pro tip: found a 2001 fan page for a Toledo mall food court and it broke my brain a little
Was scrolling around last Tuesday night and landed on this old Geocities style page for the Woodville Mall food court in Toledo. Last update was March 2001. It still has a counter that says 4,217 visitors and a guestbook where people argued about which pretzel stand was better. Here is my problem. Half of me thinks pages like this should be left exactly as they are, frozen, guestbook spam and all, because that mess is the point. The other half thinks somebody should archive it properly before the host pulls the plug, since most of these old hosts die without warning. I sat there for like 40 minutes just reading the guestbook entries from kids who are probably in their 40s now. So where do you all land on this? Leave the weird old sites alone or grab them before they vanish?
