Stumbled on a 2002 fan site for a band that hasn't existed since 2005

It's a full Geocities-style shrine with a MIDI player and a guestbook full of posts from 2003. The webmaster's last update says 'check back for tour dates!' from 2004. Does anyone else feel weirdly responsible for these digital ghost towns?

Ever get the urge to leave a new guestbook post just to say hi?

Guestbooks? Man, that takes me back. Those were mostly on personal websites, not forums like this. Forums have threads, not guestbook pages. Different vibe.

Oh man, I found one of these last month for a band called The Robots that broke up in 2006. The guestbook had someone asking if the singer was still dating that one girl from the other band, and I felt this weird urge to Google it and leave them an answer, even though nobody's been there in fifteen years. It's like finding a time capsule where the people forgot to come back for their stuff, and now you're the only one who knows it exists.
