That old Geocities guide to raising chickens still works better than most modern farming blogs

I read someone saying those old sites are useless because they look terrible, but I followed a 1997 page from a woman in Iowa about coop ventilation and my birds stopped getting sick. Has anyone else found hidden gems in those ugly old layouts?

Nah, I can't agree here. Those old Geocities pages are a nightmare to navigate. Sure the info might be solid but finding it takes forever. I wasted two hours trying to follow a 1998 page about brooder heat lamps and the text was buried under a rotating skull gif and neon green Courier font. Missed the part about fire safety because I couldn't even scroll without the page glitching. Modern blogs have their issues with ads and fluff but at least I can read them without getting a migraine. Give me clean formatting and actual paragraphs over nostalgia any day.

My own website from 1999 looks like someone sneezed on a rainbow and it somehow makes my chicken keeping tips more trustworthy, I swear. That Iowa lady knew her stuff - modern blogs are too busy with their high-res photos and affiliate links to tell you that a slightly cracked window beats a fancy ventilation system every time. Meanwhile my site still has an unfinished sentence about feeding mash that I need to fix, but nobody's complained in 20 years.
