Took me 3 days to figure out a 2004 forum's verification image
I was trying to pull old sewing machine manuals off this site that hasn't been updated since like 2009. The captcha was this weird distorted text but the submit button just spun forever. After two days of trying different browsers I noticed the page source had a hidden field that needed a specific number from the URL. Took me a full extra day to realize the number changed every time you refreshed. Finally got in and the manual was just a single blurry photo. Has anyone else wasted that much time on an old site's busted login system?

The single blurry photo part killed me, I did the exact same thing with an old car forum for a wiring diagram. Spent a whole weekend fighting their broken login and the "manual" was just a grainy scan of a page that was cut off on the side.
