Dropped $200 on a GPT writing tool and it ghosted me mid-project
I paid for a year of this AI writing assistant back in January... $200 upfront because I thought it would save me on content drafts. Then last week it just started giving me half-finished paragraphs and error codes. Emailed support three times, no reply. Anyone else get burned by one of these subscription AI tools?

tbh i feel like getting ghosted by a writing tool isnt the end of the world. like yeah it sucks that you dropped $200 but its not like you lost your entire life savings or something. these AI tools are super unreliable anyway, half the time they crap out on the simplest tasks. plus support being slow is pretty standard for most of these subscription things now, not really a shocker. honestly if it was that important you probably should have had backups or something.

OH BOY here we go again with the "backups are your fault" defense. Yeah sure, let me just whip out a backup for a service that literally STOPPED EXISTING without warning. That's like telling someone they should have had a backup plan if their car got stolen while they were driving it. And sure, $200 isn't life savings money, but it's still $200 I could have spent on literally anything else that WORKS. The "AI tools are unreliable anyway" argument is just weird to me - if a product is known to be trash, maybe we should be MORE mad when they take our money and run, not LESS. Support being slow is standard? I guess if "standard" means taking 3 weeks to reply with a copy-paste response before ghosting completely.
