Dropped $200 on an AI video tool, then realized free options do the same thing
I bought this fancy AI video editing subscription last month for my side gig making promo clips in Portland. Turns out the free open source tools handle 90% of what I need, and now I'm stuck paying for something I barely touch. Anyone else canceled a subscription after finding the free workaround?

Drove myself crazy last spring trying to justify a $50/month music library subscription for my clips, then found out my buddy's old recording software could generate these weird ambient loops for free. Spent like four hours messing with pitch and reverb, ended up with this lo-fi track that honestly sounded like a broken fridge hum, but my client loved it. Now I'm sitting here wondering why I ever paid for anything when my laptop's built-in mic and some patience can get me 80% there. The subscription got cancelled the same day, but I still think about that fridge hum sometimes, it lowkey became my signature sound for a bit.
