That "write it down" advice is solid. I had a guy at a hardware store tell me once that all tools are just levers or wedges, and it seemed so simple but it changed how I look at my whole toolbox now.

That "can't stop thinking about" feeling is a real sign something hit home. I'd write down exactly what they said and why it stuck with you, even if it's just in your phone notes. Usually that helps you figure out if it's a genuine insight or just a clever line.
