Just realized my kid's homework helper AI is basically a teaching assistant now

My daughter's tutor said the new math app (it's called MathMate) can explain concepts three different ways until she gets it, which is wild. Has anyone else seen AI that adapts like a real person?

My old algebra tutor back in high school would just repeat the same explanation louder if I didn't get it. These apps are basically the patient teacher I never had. It's kind of embarrassing that a piece of software has more emotional intelligence than Mr. Henderson did. I guess the bar was pretty low back then. Now I'm wondering if I should download one of these things to finally understand my own kid's homework.

@chen.olivia, I get your point, but apps just can't replace a real person who actually cares.

That "explain concepts three different ways" thing is so real. My nephew uses a reading app that does the same, it'll break down tough words with examples or even little pictures if he's stuck. It's crazy how it picks up on his confusion faster than some human tutors I've seen. Feels like we're living in the future when a program can adjust its teaching style on the fly.
