My coworker told me to ignore the hype about AI dental imaging last year

She said the new software that spots cavities was just a gimmick and to stick with our old x-ray machine. I mean, I listened for a bit, but then our office in Tempe tried a trial of Pearl's AI system. It flagged a tiny crack on a patient's molar that we all missed, maybe saving them a root canal later. Has anyone else had a real experience where an AI tool proved a skeptic wrong?

My old dentist was totally against digital scans, swore by his putty impressions. I had to get a crown done and the digital fit was perfect on the first try, no goopy mess or second visit. He actually called me to admit he was wrong, said the lab sent back way fewer adjustments. Seeing a pro change his mind after decades in the chair was wild.

My aunt was the same way about her smart thermostat, said it was a waste. Her heating bill dropped 30 bucks the first month. People just hate new tech until it works right in front of them.
