My image upscaler turned a photo of my grandma into a melted wax figure
Tried one of those free AI upscalers on an old family photo from 1978 and it turned my grandma's face into something out of a horror movie, eyes all smeared and teeth melting together. I ran it three times thinking I'd picked the wrong setting, same creepy result each time. The site was called upscale.media or something close to that, and it bragged about "restoring memories" right on the homepage. Has this happened to anyone else, or did I just pick a junk tool?

Same thing happened to me with a pic of my mom from the 80s. Her eyes came out looking like two little black holes and her smile turned into this weird blurry smear. Those free upscalers just guess at faces and fill in whatever, and it never looks right.
