Pro tip: started logging my prompter temperature to avoid running out of steam mid-session

I lost a 3 hour vocal recording session in Atlanta last Tuesday because my digital prompter froze up after we let the GPU overheat and now I'm wondering if anyone else keeps a temp log or just eyeballs it.

Maybe set up an alert on your phone when it hits a certain temp.

My buddy Jake runs a small recording studio in Nashville. He was doing a live podcast recording with three guests when his laptop started throttling mid conversation. The audio got all choppy and robotic, they had to scrap the whole first 45 minutes and start over. He got real paranoid after that and started taping a cheap meat thermometer to the side of his machine. Now he's got a whole system with this old gaming laptop fan blowing on the prompter dedicated to just keeping it cool.
