Warning: I spent $500 on an AI writing assistant and it's making my work worse
Everyone says these tools boost creativity, but mine just recycles the same five phrases and kills my original voice. Has anyone found one that actually helps instead of just sounding generic?

Honestly, have you tried turning off most of the "style" settings? I found they just get in the way and make everything sound like a robot wrote it. Tbh the best use for them is just to fix my bad spelling after I've already written my own stuff.

Wow, five hundred dollars is a serious chunk of change. I get the frustration, but is a tool really "killing" your voice? That sounds a bit dramatic. Like @the_miles said, maybe you're letting it do too much work. If it keeps spitting out "unlock potential" or "game-changing solution," that's on you for not editing it out. These things are just fancy spell checkers, not ghostwriters.
