Aviation maintenance at 4am or not at all

Flew into Dallas Love Field for a quick turn last Tuesday and watched the line crew miss a cracked brake disc. Walked over, pointed at the scoring. They had the logbook out, but no one had actually looked at the wheels. Ten minute turnaround, sure, but this is how tires fail on rollout. I get the pressure to keep schedules, but a visual wheel check takes 90 seconds. You can't skip the walk-around for a connection. Anyone else catching line teams that rush the preflight when the inbound is late?
