Changed my mind about torque seal after a lead in Nashville called me out
I used to skip torque seal on cotter-pinned castle nuts, figured the pin was doing the work. Then a lead I respect pulled me aside after a gearbox R&R and said, 'You're not marking for the next guy, you're marking for yourself in six months.' He was right, I had a prop governor come loose two weeks later because I second-guessed my own work. Now I put a thin stripe on every fastener that gets torqued, even the ones with pins. Anyone else had a habit they only kicked after a coworker pointed it out directly?
