Hit 10,000 flight hours logged and my logbook made me sad
I passed 10,000 total flight hours on a Friday night job swapping a main wheel bearing on a 737. Not my own flying hours, obviously, but hours logged across every aircraft I've worked my 14 years in this trade. Scrolling back through the first pages, I saw entries from hangars in Phoenix and Des Moines, and honestly, it hit me that half those birds are probably scrapped by now. We carry all that torque specs and corrosion calls in our heads, but the logbook only shows the jobs, not the late nights or the calls from dispatch at 2AM. Anyone else ever total up their book and feel weirdly proud and tired at the same time?
