My old supervisor swore by Safety Wire A vs Locktite, and his way cost us a 6 hour delay in Phoenix

He said never trust liquid thread locker on anything that vibrates, then we had an elevator trim cable fitting back out on the ramp and I've been second guessing every call since, anyone else had a mentor's rule that turned out to be straight up wrong or stubbornly right?
