Overheard a Delta line guy talking about torque seal colors and it made me rethink my whole system
Tbh I always just used whatever torque seal was closest on the cart, usually red or blue. But last week in the hangar at DFW I heard this older mechanic telling a new hire that he color codes by shift so if something backs off later you know who touched it last. Green for Monday, yellow for Tuesday, that kind of thing. I have torque strips all over my box that say nothing about who put them on. Has anyone else got a color code or system that actually helps trace work after the fact?

Keep it simple though. I tried the shift thing for a month and it fell apart because guys would grab whatever color was out. What actually stuck for me was one color per aircraft tail number, so if something comes loose you know it was worked on recently and can pull the log card instead of guessing.
