Question about a pilot's comment on a layover

Overheard a pilot in Denver mention they'd rather fly a plane with a 'grumpy but thorough' mechanic than a 'friendly but fast' one. It made me think about how we're judged on the ramp. What's the most backhanded compliment you've gotten from a crew?

Got told my preflight was "meticulous," which felt like code for painfully slow.

Honestly meticulous is a huge compliment in aviation. It means you're thorough and safe, not just fast. Would you rather have someone rush and miss something?
