Stop using WD-40 on aircraft cable pulleys
I watched a guy at a hangar in Phoenix drench a flap cable pulley in WD-40 last Tuesday and wanted to scream. That stuff attracts dirt and gummed up the pulley in under a month. When did we forget that cable lube is a different product entirely?

Did @sandraf84 have to re-route the cable after cleaning it out?

I switched to Tri-Flow on my Cessna's flap pulleys after the same thing happened to me back in March. Had to take the whole assembly apart to clean out the gunk, which was a mess. That stuff stays wet longer so it doesn't dry up and attract dust like WD-40 does. Maybe give that a try if you're looking for something that actually works.
