Caught a bad tamper loop because I listened to the door chime

I was doing a residential service call off Route 9 in Clifton and the customer said the panel was beeping on and off all night. I almost blamed the motion detector, but then I stood by the front door and heard the chime fire every time the bus moved in the street. The zone was programmed with a 1 second delay instead of 5, so the door contact was tripping on vibration. Anyone else run into false tamper faults from loose door frames on older installs?

A bus? A whole bus rolling past the street is setting off the door contact? That's wild. I've seen loose frames cause trouble before, but usually it takes a good slam or a heavy truck to trip them. A 1 second delay just makes it worse, that thing might as well be a vibration sensor. You gotta wonder how many nights that customer sat there listening to that chime go off every few minutes before they called you. And the fact that the zone was programmed that way from the start, probably from whoever put the panel in, that's just asking for a headache.
