Duct tape vs zip ties for temp sensor mounts, the ladder test in Phoenix settled it
After 4 months of callbacks on sensors zip-tied to ductwork in that Phoenix heat, I swapped one to duct tape on a rework and it held through 117 degrees with zero sag, has anyone else seen zip ties fail that bad on metal surfaces?

Betting the tape just cooked the probe reading all wrong, adhesive insulates way worse than metal contact. That 117 degree hold means nothing if the sensor's drifting 5 degrees from the actual duct temp. You traded one problem for another.
