I finally gave up on those cheap wireless sensors after a job in Bellingham

Had a whole system of them fail during a cold snap last week, the batteries drained in like 48 hours. Client called me back out and I had to swap in hardwired Honeywell 5800MINIs to fix it. Anyone else have a go-to sensor that actually holds up in the cold?

Those sensors have been solid for me even in freezing temps.

Wait, which sensors are you talking about? I had the opposite happen last winter. Mine started giving weird readings below 20 degrees until I added a little insulation around the housing.

Man, my buddy had the exact same thing happen in Spokane! His whole batch of those off-brand sensors just died when it hit single digits. The LCD screens went totally blank and the batteries were toast. He ended up having to do an emergency swap with some old DSC sensors he had in his van. It was a long, cold night for him.
