I still think wireless alarm systems are overrated for most homes

Did a install last week in a older brick house near Rogers Park, and the customer insisted on a all-wireless setup. Three zones kept dropping signal because of the thick walls, ended up spending an extra hour troubleshooting. Am I the only one who still prefers hardwired for reliability over flashy features?

Totally agree, hardwired is where its at for peace of mind. Had a similar nightmare with a wireless setup in a house with plaster walls, signal kept dropping every time someone walked past the kitchen.

Yeah honestly I used to think people were just being dramatic about hardwired stuff, but after dealing with wifi dropping every time someone loaded the dishwasher I totally get it now. It's kinda annoying how much better the simple old way works sometimes.
