My old boss swore by zip ties for everything, that man cost me a service call

Back in 2012 my first installer boss, Pete, told me "if it ain't zip tied, it ain't done right" and I took that to heart on a panel install in a garage in Fresno. Cut all the sensor wires to length and zipped them into a neat bundle, no slack, looked like a work of art. Two summers later the heat softened the plastic and the bundle pulled one of the terminals loose, customer came home to a dead system and I spent an afternoon redoing it with proper service loops. Anyone else learn the hard way that tidy ain't the same as right?
