PSA: Bought a $30 endoscope camera to check inside a wall cavity and it paid for itself immediately
Found a rat's nest of old, uncapped wiring that the previous installer just left there, which explained the random zone faults. Anyone else use one of these little cameras for troubleshooting?

Honestly, that seems like a waste of money to me. Most of the time you can figure out wiring problems with a basic multimeter and some common sense. Those cheap cameras have terrible picture quality anyway, and you're just as likely to miss something important in the blurry feed. I've fixed plenty of zone faults by just tracing wires the old fashioned way. It feels like buying a gadget just for the sake of having a gadget.

Totally agree! I had one of those cheap scopes and the picture was so bad it was useless. Ended up going back to my trusty meter and just following the wires.
