Question about a DIY alarm panel I installed in Phoenix

My buddy Mike told me to skip the hardwire and just use a wireless panel for my house in Phoenix. I went with it and now the motion sensor false alarms every time the AC kicks on. Anyone else have trouble with interference from HVAC systems?

Yeah the "interference from HVAC" thing is real. That AC unit pulls a ton of power and can send noise right through the wiring to your sensors. Try moving the motion sensor at least 10 feet away from any big metal ductwork or the air handler itself, that usually fixes it.

Man I learned this the hard way. Spent a whole weekend thinking my sensor was busted, turned out it just didn't like sharing a wall with the AC unit. Now I just make sure to keep my motion sensors as far from the HVAC stuff as possible, like they're in a bad relationship. Works like a charm after that.
