That 2am attic install in Gastonia flipped my sensor game
I used to swear by magnetic contacts for everything until I did a retrofit in an old Gastonia house where the windows were so warped the magnets couldn't line up. A coworker handed me a cheap vibration sensor and it caught every bump on those loose frames. Has anyone else switched to those for older homes, or do you stick with the classics out of habit?

Vibration sensors are the move for any older place, no doubt. Those warped frames eat magnetic contacts for breakfast. Once you see one catch a loose window bump that a magnet would've missed, it's hard to go back. Still keep the classics in my bag for newer builds, but old houses get the vibration treatment every time now. Simple fix, way less callbacks.
