Vent: that upscale house in Oak Park had the sloppiest panel I've ever seen

Went out to a new build in Oak Park yesterday and the electrician had the alarm panel mounted sideways with wires just dangling everywhere. Has anyone else noticed builders rushing so bad that they screw up the little things that make our jobs harder?

Honestly, "sloppiest panel" reminds me of this place I inspected out in Elmhurst last month. They had the transformer just sitting loose in the bottom of the can with a wire nut that looked like it was chewed on by a dog. Took me thirty minutes just to sort out the spaghetti mess and figure out which zone was which.

I get where you're coming from @elliots49, but I see those messy panels a little differently. Sometimes it's just a handyman who had no clue what they were doing, not someone being intentionally sloppy. A dog-chewed wire nut is rough, but at least the transformer was still connected somehow.
