Heard a guy at Santa Fe Building Supply say 'just caulk it' about everything

I was grabbing trim at Santa Fe Building Supply last Saturday and this older contractor kept telling every customer 'just caulk it' for gaps, cracks, even a crooked door frame. Made me realize I overthink small fixes around my house way too much. Has anyone else picked up a dumb simple trick from eavesdropping at a supply store?

Nah caulk is pretty much a cure-all if you ask me. Squirt some in there and call it a day, saves you time and money and most people can't even tell the difference.

Haha yeah that "just caulk it" guy sounds like he takes the same approach to everything. Though I gotta say, caulk isn't really the solution for a crooked door frame. If it's that far out of square you'd need to plane the door or adjust the hinges, otherwise you're just hiding a problem that'll get worse later. Not that I'm judging the guy, sometimes a quick fix is all you need.
